Leading up to the 50th festivities, Space is going back in time to pay tribute to every incarnation of the Time Lord with the new weekly broadcast event DOCTOR WHO REVISITED. Beginning Saturday, Oct. 12 through Nov. 17, the retrospective docu-series looks back at adventures in time and space with each one of the 11 Doctors. DOCTOR WHO REVISITED features an illustrious collection of contributors including Executive Producer Steven Moffat, John “Captain Jack” Barrowman, David Tennant, Executive Producer Caroline Skinner, and genre demigod Neil Gaiman. Each one-hour special is immediately followed by two classic episodes of DOCTOR WHO chosen by the featured Doctor of the evening. From the original time-traveller William Hartnell, to scarf-sporting Tom Baker, to the TARDIS’ current bowtie-rocking occupant, Matt Smith, DOCTOR WHO REVISITED kicks off Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. ET, before settling into its regular Saturdays and Sundays at 9 p.m. ET timeslot beginning Saturday, Oct.19.
In the first installment, “The First Doctor,” (Saturday, Oct. 12 at 10 p.m. ET) viewers are introduced to the iconic sci-fi series that continues to resonate 50 years later, examining in detail this “citizen of the universe”, to find out what makes the Doctor so unique. The episode takes a look at his time machine the TARDIS, introduces his companions, and confronts his most famous foes, the Daleks. Interviews with key cast and crew along with classic clips highlight the very first Doctors’ (William Hartnell) key moments and iconic lines.
DOCTOR WHO REVISITED will be available online at www.space.ca after broadcast.
